Testosterone Replacement Therapy
(TRT)
Why is this important?
- 20-40% of men in the US have low testosterone
- Low testosterone leads to metabolic syndrome (obesity, type II diabetes, heart disease), osteoporosis, infertility and poor quality of life
- Common symptoms include decreased libido, ED, fatigue, mood changes (irritability or depression), loss of muscle mass, increased body fat, cognitive issues, poor concentration or sleep problems
- Not commonly tested in conventional practice
Weight Loss Program
(GLP-1)
Why is this important?
- Over 42% of U.S. adults are obese
- 1 in 3 children are overweight/obese
- Linked to over 60 health conditions, including type II diabetes, heart disease, stroke, sleep apnea, kidney disease, and various cancers
- Significantly increases the risk of premature death
- Current evidence suggests health consequences are the same or worse than smoking cigarettes
How will Dr. Hammerbeck help me?
- Dr. Hammerbeck has extensive experience as a medical director at a men's health clinic specializing in testosterone replacement therapy and holds certification from the Hormonal Health Institute.
- She will help determine if TRT is right for you.

Whats with the GLP-1s?
- GLP-1 = glucagon-like peptide-1
- A natural peptide produced by the body involved in digestion, appetite and regulation of hormones involved in digestion, appetite and metabolism
- Peptides are short chains of amino acids; think of them as micro-proteins
- They play a crucial role in signaling processes that regulate metabolism, water balance, immune function, muscle activity, and various other bodily functions.
Why haven't I heard much about this?
- Previous studies were flawed, leading to exaggerated fears about cardiovascular risks and prostate cancer associated with testosterone replacement.
- As a result, many physicians lack awareness and the necessary training in hormone replacement therapy, making them hesitant to manage low testosterone cases.
- Current research indicates that addressing low testosterone can actually reduce cardiovascular risk. While testosterone replacement therapy does not cause prostate cancer, it can exacerbate existing prostate cancer, which is why screening is essential before starting treatment.
Why are so many people using GLP-1s?
- Because they are the safest and most effective weight loss medications on the market.
- They are easy! A weekly injection with mild to no pain.
- Weight loss is complex due to factors like hormones, metabolism, diet, stress, and activity, even when you feel like you're doing everything right.
How can I find out if I have low testosterone?
- Contact the clinic to set up a consultation today!
Are there any downsides?
- GI side effects are most common
- You are NOT a candidate if you have family history of MEN2 cancer syndromes, medullary thyroid carcinoma or personal history of pancreatitis
- Muscle loss can happen, so it is important to ensure adequate protein intake
