Why I Love My Work
What I enjoy most about my career as a Family Nurse Practitioner is meeting people from all backgrounds and walks of life and incorporating their individuality into their plan of healthcare. I also enjoy working alongside the team that continues to positively influence and grow direct primary care to what it has become today. I chose to start Motivity Health, DPC, because I believe patients should be able to drive their healthcare experience by offering a change from the insurance-driven healthcare model. My vision and mission is to provide transparent, personalized, simplified, and low cost healthcare experience to my community. I am passionate about helping people achieve their optimal health through this alternative healthcare model.
Getting to Know Me
I am a wife to my husband Jason and mother of four children. I enjoy traveling with my family, caring for our hobby farm, coaching my kid’s hockey teams, volunteering for the Bame Foundation, and spending time outdoors. I constantly seek out learning opportunities and ways to become a better servant leader within my personal and professional life.
Education and Professional Experience
My healthcare education and experience started in 2008 where I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a local nursing home. I became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2012 and then a Registered Nurse in 2015. I was given the opportunity to work in various nursing specialties including oncology, research, urgent care, neurology, and emergency medicine before becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. I knew early on in my career I wanted to continue to advance my education within nursing which led me to the Family Nurse Practitioner program for rural and underserved communities at Regis University in Denver, CO. I graduated and became board-certified in 2021, then took a position in rural MN working in the emergency department, primary clinic, and urgent care up until the founding of my private practice, Motivity Health in 2024. Today I am serving my community and promoting DPC in the surrounding communities to help others experience patient-driven care they deserve.

Why I Love My Work
I became a doctor because I felt called to care for others and walk alongside them in their health journey. I believe that every patient’s definition of living their “best life” is unique, and I take pride in helping them reach those goals. Building strong, trusting relationships with my patients is the most meaningful part of my work.I am especially passionate about educating and empowering my patients, giving them the tools and confidence to make thoughtful healthcare decisions. With a focus on mental health and a trauma-informed approach, I value guiding patients through meaningful changes and celebrating their successes. I also believe in the body’s natural ability to heal with consistent care and healthy habits.
Getting to Know Me
Outside of medicine, I love to embrace life’s adventures. I played college rugby, once competed in a national poker tournament in Las Vegas, and even roasted marshmallows over a volcano during a medical mission trip to Guatemala. At home, I am a proud wife and mom of three boys. I enjoy practicing yoga and spending time outdoors in all seasons.
Education and Professional Experience
I am a board-certified Family Medicine physician who has been caring for patients across a wide range of settings since 2018, including clinic, emergency medicine, obstetrics, hospital care, and correctional health. I completed both medical school and residency through the University of Minnesota. My background includes leadership roles as an Emergency Department Medical Director and experience in men’s health, hormone therapy, and lifestyle medicine. This allows me to care for everything from everyday concerns to more complex, ongoing health needs with confidence and continuity. Through Motivity Health, I focus on building strong patient relationships and delivering accessible, personalized care that fits into real life.
